Cash for Christmas Winner is Lou Jean Peace

It’s fitting in this season of peace that the winner of the Cash for Christmas $500 downtown shopping spree is a woman named Lou Jean Peace. Ms. Peace registered to win at the Shoppes on Main during the promotion which ran from November 20 through December 18 in downtown Fuquay-Varina.

After teaching in the Valdosta, GA school system for 32 years, Ms. Peace retired and traveled to Korea and taught. When she got tired of traveling the world, she followed her mother and sister to Fuquay-Varina and she absolutely loves it here. According to Ms. Peace, Fuquay-Varina is the right size and a wonderful community. She loves shopping in downtown and she likes to introduce people who have never been in downtown Fuquay-Varina to the “neat” stores. To satisfy her need for international intrigue, she still mentors exchange students. You could say she has the best of both worlds here in Fuquay-Varina.

More than 4000 people entered to win the gift certificate given away by twenty-eight merchants in downtown Fuquay-Varina who pooled their resources to fund the downtown promotion. The Cash for Christmas Promotion is sponsored by the Fuquay-Varina Revitalization Association.
