Fuquay-Varina Downtown will host a free Holiday Sleigh Ride on Thursday, December 4, 2014 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm during the Town Christmas Tree Lighting. The sleigh ride will be located at Ashworth’s BP Station (120 S. Main Street) in the historic Fuquay District.
“Friends of Downtown” will receive complimentary Fast Pass tickets to the sleigh ride. These tickets will give you access in front of the lines to ride the sleigh. Learn how to become a friend.
In the spirit of giving and helping people in our community Fuquay-Varina Downtown has teamed up with the Fuquay-Varina Emergency Food Pantry and is asking everyone to bring a canned food item which will serve as your “ticket” for the sleigh. In case you forget a canned good, we will have a FV Food Pantry donation box available.
Line set up will begin at 5:30. The sleigh ride will be first come, first serve, unless you have a “fast pass friend ticket”. The line will begin at TR Ashworth and will extend down the sidewalks on Main and Depot Street. Children age 2 and under must sit on an adult’s lap during the sleigh ride. The last ride of the evening will be at 7:55 pm.
The Christmas Tree lighting, sponsored by the Town of Fuquay-Varina’s Parks and Recreation Department will take place at 7:00 pm at 233 S. Main Street. The tree lighting and sleigh rides are the official kick-off to the holiday season. Once you have experienced the magical night of the Christmas tree lighting and sleigh rides you will have your calendars marked each year. Don’t miss it!
