Please join us for the 8th Annual Downtown Chili Cook-Off in Historic Downtown Fuquay-Varina on Saturday, October 30th. The event is part of the Day in Downtown Festival which draws more than 7000 people to downtown for a day of family fun.
The Cook-off is becoming quite a Fuquay-Varina tradition! In 2009, eleven chili cook-off teams competed for the $500 grand prize and hundreds of people tasted great chili all day long! All this good natured, fun, competition helped raise much needed funds for downtown revitalization in the heart of downtown Fuquay-Varina.
In addition to a first place prize of $500, there is a second place prize of $300 and the third place winner will receive $150. All awards are voted on by the public. If you’re up to the cooking challenge, learn how to enter the contest by downloading the 2010 Downtown Chili Cook-off Rules and Entry Form. The entry deadline is October 22nd at 5:00 pm. If you’re not a cook, but you love to eat chili, come on down to the Downtown Chili Cook-off on Saturday, October 30th from 10:30 am - 3:30 pm and taste, taste, taste!! You can taste all the chili entries for $5.00. We'll be located in the large parking lot on Main Street near Cooley's Restaurant.
